This bit of news from Wilt Greenwood, Eastern Gourmands Chapter president:
As they say on CNN, “Breaking News!”. I apologize for being so late in sending out info on the Oregon Gourmands dinner, but it’s been a real struggle finding an appropriate venue. Harry and Sandy Hentschel agreed to be hosts, even though they had a partial vacation conflict, but all the spots they could find were either booked, too expensive, or wouldn’t conform to our requirements. Somewhere in the middle of their search, I got a call from Rett and Claire Porter, who volunteered to help, but they too had difficulty coming up with anything appropriate. Then, when we had almost given up hope, the Porters came up with a referral which the Hentschels decided would work, and Sandy and Harry negotiated us a spot. Whew!

After considerable time searching for a restaurant in the Redmond/Bend area we finally found one that will meet our needs.
The dinner will be Sunday, August 11th, at 5:30pm at The Black Steer Restaurant in Bend: 63455 N Hwy 97, Suite 118, only 12 miles from the Deschutes Event Center. We’ll have a private room in the Saloon area with a full bar.
